Bringing a league to your community

Who is League 152 for?
League 152 is for people who love Mahjong and bringing others together. You might teach, host regular games, run a shop, or already organize leagues. If you’d like to give players a welcoming place to gather and enjoy friendly competition, there’s a place for you here.
Do I need to have hosted a league before?
No. Whether this is your first league or your fiftieth, League 152 gives you structure and support along the way. You bring your knowledge of the game and the people you’re gathering. Session checklists, planning tools, and fellow Directors help you prepare for what comes next.
What does League 152 help me with?
The details that surround the gathering: preparing seating, keeping track of tasks, sharing information with players, and following results and standings. You’ll also have messages and reminders ready to review and send, plus optional score sheets, name tents, and table cards. You stay involved in the decisions, with support to make the preparation easier.
What formats are available?
Choose how many sessions, from one to twenty-four. Each league includes the same League 152 structure and support. Choose the length that fits your community and gives your players something to look forward to.
What rules do League 152 leagues follow?
All League 152 leagues play American Mahjong using the current National Mah Jongg League card and rules. Those shared expectations help Directors guide play and give players a consistent experience from table to table.
Do all League 152 leagues use the same scoring?
Yes. Every League 152 league uses the same scoring system across every league length. Directors and players share a clear understanding of how results count toward the league standings.
Is there a community for Directors?

Joining a league

Do I need my own National Mah Jongg League card?
Yes. Bring your own current National Mah Jongg League card to each session. All League 152 leagues play American Mahjong using that card and the National Mah Jongg League rules.
How much playing experience do I need?
You don’t need to be the strongest player at the table. If you’re still learning, connect with the Director before registering to talk about your experience and whether the league is a good fit.
Can I request to play with friends?
Yes. Use Play Together when you register to request friends you’d like to play with. Your Director reviews seating with those preferences in mind, alongside player levels and opportunities to meet other tablemates. Requests help guide seating but don’t guarantee that you’ll sit together every session.
Can I join if I’ll need to miss a session?
Yes. You can still join a league if you know you’ll miss a session. You can find your own substitute or ask your Director to find one for you. Let your Director know as early as possible so they can plan for the gathering.
Can I follow the league standings?
Yes. Players record results on a shared table scorecard, and you can follow the league standings between gatherings. It’s another way to enjoy the friendly competition and cheer each other on as the league unfolds.
How do I find dates, locations, and registration details?
Visit Find a League to explore the listed communities and view individual league details.
What if there isn’t a league near me?
Tell us where you’d like to play. Your interest helps us identify communities where we can reach out to local instructors.
Is League 152 affiliated with the National Mah Jongg League?
No. League 152 leagues use the National Mah Jongg League card and rules, but League 152 is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the National Mah Jongg League.
