What we know about you

This describes what League 152 actually stores and who can read it. The formal policy is still with a lawyer.

Not the final policy. The sections below describe how the platform behaves today. The binding document — [ PRIVACY POLICY, LEGAL REVIEW ] — has not been written, and nothing here should be read as it.

What we collect about players

Your name, email address, an optional phone number, whether you hold a current NMJL card, and how you described your own level when you registered. If you asked to sit with somebody, we store who you named.

Once you are playing: your scores, which sessions you attended, and the level your director assessed you at.

No payment details, anywhere, ever. Payment happens on a separate booking page. There is no card number, no billing address and no payment token in this system to lose.

Who can see it

Your director sees the players in their own leagues and nobody else’s. That is not a policy about how people behave — it is how the database queries are written, and there is no way for a director to reach another director’s league even by accident.

The commissioner sees every league nationally. That is the job: the commissioner is the person who answers when something goes wrong in a market they are not standing in.

What the public can see

A league that is taking registrations shows its name, its city, its dates, its venue by name, how many seats are left, and its director’s first name. That is the whole list.

Not published: any player’s name, any email address, any score, the venue’s street address, or a director’s surname. A league that is running is not published at all — a page saying where 28 named people will be on a Tuesday evening is not something anybody signed up for.

When public standings arrive, you will be able to hide your surname from them, and that choice is honoured in the shareable image as well as on the page.

Finding leagues near you

To show leagues near you on the home page, we use an approximate location that our hosting provider (Amazon CloudFront) works out from your internet address as the page is delivered. It is usually your town or one nearby, and it is not stored.

If you choose your area yourself, we remember the town you typed on your own device, in a cookie, so the page keeps showing your leagues. You can change it any time.

Near you, a league that is already running appears as its city and nothing more — no venue, no dates and no names.

Email

You get the emails your league needs: your confirmation, session reminders, the recaps and the wrap-up. You can unsubscribe from marketing email at any time, and doing so applies across the whole platform rather than per league.
